Phil teaches all of my children to play piano whose ages range from 6 - 14. We were looking for a piano teacher who could inject some 'fun' into learning and to encourage the older children not to give up music in their teens. The children learn music they love, and have progressed quickly, building their confidence all the time. The younger children enjoy his calm and methodical approach. Phil is a great guy & a great teacher.

Phil Warren has been a great guitar teacher for our son, Eddie. Phil is a skilled musician. He has brought enthusiasm and humour to lessons which means that Eddie looks forward to them every week and is inspired to practise. Eddie has made rapid progress from beginner to very competent player. One of Phil's particular strengths is that he takes his lead from my son's choice of music and develops that into a testing and rewarding lesson. I would recommend Phil without any hesitation.

Phil is a highly experienced and exceptionally dedicated music teacher, who has been teaching our daughter piano for the past three years. She has learnt a diverse repertoire including classical grade pieces and popular songs. This has been achieved by teaching her a combination of sight reading, music theory and learning to play by ear. She thoroughly enjoys learning the piano as Phil individually tailors the lessons to suit her strengths and his enthusiastic, encouraging and patient manner always brings out the best in her!

Phil has been teaching my 5 year old son for about a year now. He mainly teaches him the piano but also the guitar for a short while during the lesson. He has recently started teaching my 3 year old daughter the piano for a few minutes a week. Phil has the patience and personality for teaching young children. He knows how to calm them down and get them playing! They always look forward to seeing him and showing him what they have practised. Both of my children can now read music notes: in about a year, the older one has progressed from not playing anything to playing simple songs using proper piano fingering for both hands. He can also play a few notes on the guitar. My daughter can also play a few simple pieces on the piano. Mumtaz has two children and lives in the Kingston area.

2014: Since switching to Phil from her school piano teacher my daughter has progressed in leaps and bounds. In the last year and a half, she has progressed 3 grades. More importantly, she is enjoying playing much more and shows a much better understanding of the music. Her sight reading, in particular, has improved immeasurably. Phil is a motivational and motivated teacher who takes a genuine interest in his pupils and works to develop their individual talents. His approach is encouraging and constructive, but disciplined, which has created a great environment for our daughter to develop her musical abilities. 2019: In this video, Poppy is performing 'I got Rhythm'. Poppy has recently passed her Grade 8 with distinction.
